This Just In!
Baby Hise is due in early October!! Today, I am 11 weeks and the nausea is starting to go away...thank the Lord! I only got sick one time, while brushing my teeth, but I was pretty nauseous for a while. It mainly hit in the afternoon and evenings. I don't know which is worse, actually puking or just feeling like you might puke alllll day? As you know, I suffered a miscarriage back in December, so to find out I was pregnant again in late January was quite a surprise! I have to say, we were feeling cautiously optimistic. I got the positive pregnancy test on a Saturday and called the Dr on Monday morning for an appointment. Since I had a miscarriage they got me in for my first appointment the following week. I was 5 wks pregnant when I had my first appointment which is rare, they usually won't see you until you're 8-10 wks pregnant. When I went in for my first appointment I had an ultrasound and Baby H looked like a little bean. I believe it was actually the size of a blueberry, so that's what we named it! I could see the cardiac flicker (the little hearbeat) which was a huge relief and the doctor said everything looked good! I went back the next week (just for reassurance) and Justin got to go to that appointment with me and we could see the cardiac flicker again and the baby had doubled in size in just 1 week! I just went back yesterday to see how everything looked and try to hear the heartbeat. Unfortunately, the blueberry was being uncooperative and we didn't get to hear the hearbeat, but when the doctor did the ultrasound we could see the baby kicking it's legs and flailing it's arms like crazy! It was the coolest thing to see!! We got an ultrasound pic of the baby looking right at us with it's little alien face and then we got one of the profile! I think once Justin saw it moving around in there like crazy it became more "real" to him and he was a little light-headed for a minute! Haha! The doctor said everything looks great and I go back in 3 weeks for another visit. I'll be 14 wks when we go back and that's when they'll measure the head and the baby from head to toes to get a due date. If the numbers are correct, I should be due between Oct 9-11. It would also be awesome if the baby would cooperate and let us see the sex early, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
