Justin and I celebrated our Valentine's Day last Friday with some gifts and dinner and a movie! You already know what I got him from my previous post, so let me show you what he got me!
New Vera Wang bedding! I love it so much!! We went to dinner at Landry's Seafood and it was delicious! The restaurant was recommended by one of Justin's friends at work. And to cap off the weekend we went to see Just Go With It with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. It was such a funny movie and kept us laughing through the entire movie! Over all, it was a great After Valentine's Day Weekend <3

Happy After Valentine's Day!
Since Justin is in the field this week we decided to do our Valentine's Day celebration this Friday. We've actually never celebrated Valentine's Day before because he's been gone (I already talked about that here). I'm not sure what Justin has in store for me, but he did say something about a nice dinner and a movie. That's totally my idea of a nice evening! Maybe we can go to PF Chang's! There are about 5-6 movies out right now that I want to see, so I'm sure we can find a good one. Anyway, back to the point. Every Sunday we go to the Harley store and look around and Justin is always showing me things he wants for his bike and new shirts he likes. Sometimes I find shirts for myself too. I never thought I'd be a Harley girl, but I own a hoodie and t-shirt so far. Don't worry, I don't plan on being decked out in leather from head to toe anytime soon! So I made a trip to the Harley store and picked up a little accessory for the bike.
This is a headlamp cover. It's kind of like a visor for the headlight and it gives the bike a retro feel. Normally we're not too into skulls, but he picked this one up specifically on 2 different trips. I also got him (more for both of us) a black heart picture frame (with a picture in it) for our bedroom, a pack of Resse's in a heart shape, Dove heart shaped chocolates and 2 family packs of gum. We decided not to spend a ton of money on each other for VDay, so the headlamp cover is the big ticket item and the rest is just some fun fillers. Oh! I almost forgot, I also bought a heart shaped plate to put a little dessert on that I made for him also! I hope all the lovers out there had an amazing Valentine's Day and had fun celebrating love!

Catching Up
I haven't blogged in a while, so I thought I would catch up a little bit. Let's see...what has happened since my last post? Not much! My husband's unit has been in the field A LOT. They have been in the field every week for about 5 wks now. The first 2 weeks weren't so bad because they would go out on Thursday night and come back Friday afternoon, but for the last 3 weeks they've gone out on Monday or Tuesday and don't come back until Friday afternoon. Usually Justin's so tired when he comes back from the field that he sleeps all of Friday to catch up on what sleep he didn't get in the field. Since I work weekends this means our time together is limited and interrupted by the responsibilities of being an adult. BOO! This last week they were supposed to go out the 7th and stay until the 16th or 17th. A whole 10 days out there! Luckily the guys got a call on Super Bowl Sunday telling them they had Monday off so they got an extra day off. They're coming back tonight and were supposed to have an early release, but now I'm getting texts saying they might have to stay the entire day. Such BS! They'll go back out on Monday and hopefully come home on Thursday because next weekend is a 4 day weekend for them (President's Day). Yes, that means I don't get a Valentine's Day celebration, but I'm used to it. This is the 3rd year we haven't celebrated. Our first year he was in Basic Training, our 2nd year he was in Korea and now he'll be in the field. Maybe I can do a little a basket for him and surprise him when he gets home? I know, most guys don't get too excited about VDay, but I always have fun putting things together for him!
We've also had some guests staying with us for the last 4ish weeks. There was a new Soldier in Justin's unit that moved his wife to El Paso and they didn't have anywhere to stay, so we let them stay in our guest bedroom until they found an apartment. It's been nice having Jayme here while Justin's in the field because it's not as lonely. They're actually moving into an apartment in our complex on the 18th.
Sadly, as you all know, the Steelers lost the Super Bowl. It was a great game and we knew it would come down to the last minute with Green Bay. Also, the Steelers did not play like their normal selves. The 2nd quarter looked the most like "them", but the better team won. Before the Super Bowl Hines Ward was going to retire, but he announced the Monday after the game that he will be back next year! I'm so happy because Hines in my man and I fully plan on buying his jersey for next season!! No matter the outcome of the big game, I still got nothin' but love for the BLACK & YELLOW! STEELER NATION!

Snow!
Yes, kiddo's, we have snow in El Paso! Granted, it's about 3 inches of snow, but still...it's snow! I woke up this morning to snow on the ground and immediately turned on the news because I just had to see what they were saying. Apparently, in El Paso, 3 inches of snow is equal to severe weather and they had all of these listings of delays and closings. And they weren't just schools! A lot of government offices were opening late and they closed all major highways to New Mexico except for one. They even closed Ft Bliss! Yes, the Army post closed down today which is the definition of irony to me. Nevermind the fact that my husband is in the field in New Mexico, in the middle of the desert, covered in snow...but sure, shut down the base! So, I posted a status on Facebook to share with everyone back home how silly it is here and it made me laugh even more! The news lady was broadcasting outside and said, "It's so cold you can barely talk or think!" I'll give her some credit, it is 9 degrees here, but that's never stopped me from thinking or talking. She also had a bottle of water that she kept showing the camera was freezing. Well of course it's freezing...you're standing outside in below freezing temps! That's 5th grade science, not news. I'll share a few pictures with you:
This is a picture of the snow from my bedroom window. There's still blades of grass sticking through the snow, so clearly there's not a lot out there!
And here's a picture of the "snow covered" roads that are causing everyone to freak out! Hehe! Now, I can understand if they're freaking out over the temperature. 9 degrees is frickin cold no matter where you're living! Anyway, maybe this post/pictures gave everyone back home in Indiana a good chuckle! For all of my friends/family/followers out there in the midwest, stay safe!!
