Pregnancy
Recently (Nov 20) I found out that I'm pregnant! We are very excited to be parents and were a little surprised to find out I was pregnant. We started "trying" to get pregnant back in July when we moved to Texas. I use the term trying lightly because all I did was stop my birth control and continued on with our daily lives. I wasn't tracking my ovulation and all those things, we were just living life. When I took the pregnancy test the 2nd line was very faint and hard to see so I took a picture of the test and asked my Mom and my best friend if they could see the line. My friend said definitely. After all the "is it or isn't it"questions I bought another test, an early response test, because those would show a positive with a darker line. Poor Justin was so in shock he thought he was going to faint! I took 2 more tests (3 in total) and they were all definitely positive! I have my first doctor appointment on Dec 21 and I can't wait! Most doctor's won't see you until you're 8-10 wks along and when I found out I was only 4 wks (talk about finding our early)! I have experienced a few things these last 2 wks and they all seem to be very normal for the first trimester. I have been very tired lately and either taking naps in the afternoons or falling asleep on the couch while watching TV. Of course when Justin wakes me up to go to bed I can't fall back asleep, I hate when that happens! Also, my boobs are incredibly sore. Yes, they often hurt to the point that I will sleep with a sports bra on! I know, this may be a little TMI but it's the truth! I haven't been having any sickness yet, but not many things sound good to eat. There are some things, that when mentioned, make my stomach turn and I could vomit on the spot! It's the weirdest thing and Justin just doesn't understand. The last and most recent thing is headaches. Oh my they are some fierce headaches! I can't really take anything for them so I just have to tough them out. I've had a headache the last 4 days in a row and the only thing I've found that gives relief is to put an elastic headband on to help with the throbbing. The only catch to this is I have to wear it Rambo style or it doesn't work. I'm sure I look very attractive sitting on the couch in my sweats, glasses and headband, but hey, it helps! We've gone from calling the baby a poppy seed (the size at 4 wks) to a sesame seed (the size at 5 wks) to a manatee because if you look at the 2 tickers at the top of my blog, it kind of resembles a manatee! I'm excited for week 7 because then it starts to resemble a baby! I'm going to start making Justin take pictures of my belly so that we can see the progress. I'll probably start at week 8 since that's when my first appointment is. We can't wait for July and to meet Baby Hise!!
